“I Miss Him Every Single Minute”: Hema Malini Says She Still Can’t Believe Dharmendra Is Gone

It has been three months since the legendary actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving fans, colleagues, and loved ones in deep sorrow. In a recent interview, his wife and renowned actress Hema Malini opened up about how difficult it has been for her to accept that he is no longer with her.

The 79th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) recently paid tribute to Dharmendra during the In Memoriam segment, acknowledging his immense contribution to cinema and his global popularity. When speaking to Variety India, Malini described the honour as deeply meaningful, noting how Dharmendra’s presence transcended borders and how fans around the world loved him.

Reflecting on their life together, she said they often chose to sign films together not for professional reasons, but simply so they could spend more time with one another during busy shooting schedules.

Despite these loving memories, Hema Malini admitted that she still finds it hard to believe Dharmendra is gone. “I miss him every single minute. I keep asking myself, is he really gone? When will I meet him again?” she said, underscoring the emotional struggle of living without her partner of many years.

The interview also revisited the weeks before his death when Dharmendra was hospitalised after his health declined and was later brought back home. Though there were earlier rumours about his condition, those were dismissed by the family before his eventual passing.

Hema’s candid remarks reveal that, even months later, the grief of losing Dharmendra continues to shape her daily life, and her longing for him remains strong.
